Tom's view of the Smokey Mountain Chopper Fe...

Deep Six Cycles

Here are a few of the shots I came up with at the 1st annual Smokey Mountain Chopperfest in Franklin NC.
I had a tube failure just outside of town with in 15 minutes of  leaving town. Luckily it was only sprinkling and not pouring. We got a truck dropped off loaded the bike up and went out to catch the party.

Josh at Saladin Cycles (he's a boss by the way!) hooked me up with a new tube the next day and we stuck it on with the first round of hang overs still ringing in our heads. Much thanks to our friends who put us up and let us use your house! We really need to come up there more often!
These guys are rulers in case you didn't know.

My bike at the top of the hill on the way out.
This has been referred to as our "we broke the Prospects" photo. These boys worked and partied hard all weekend! You made us proud.
Some of our line up in front of  our camp. Stay tuned for video of the white and purple ironhead flying!

Some good fellers in this shot!
Here's one snapped on the run in.

Pryia Ray

Deep Six Cycles

Our awesome and amazing friend Pryia Ray was voted person of the week by WLOS News 13. Pryia is an incredibly positive and inspiring person. She is currently involved in a Mobility Awareness Month Contest for a wheelchair assessable van which she could use quite badly. You can find her video and vote at the folowling link! http://www.mobilityawarenessmonth.com

You may also notice my lady Liz and Wayland were interviewed and there may be a very familiar member of the Stumblers in the Video...

Mudhoney

Deep Six Cycles

While growing up we listened to all sorts of stupid music. Stupid or not I still like a lot of that not so great music.

Those $35 Flat Fenders again!

Deep Six Cycles

Yeah, yeah, yeah you know we sell flat 7" flat fenders at killer prices. You did know that didn't you? Well just to refresh your memory. These flat fenders were made just for us in a neighboring state! That's right that means these fenders were made right here in the USA! They are perfect for an Old School Chopper, Bobber or any Custom job you can dream up. This heavy gauge 7" fender measures 25 3/4" long and 10 5/8" tall and fits a 16" wheel tire combo very well. They will require some fabrication to mount them. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have.

Wheels Through Time Museum

Deep Six Cycles

It is no secret that Wheels Through Time is one of my top favorite places to visit. We are very lucky to live so close. I am always over whelmed by the large amount of mechanical history to take in. And while we visit I am usually unsuccessfully trying to memorize little details that separate different years and models. Or just how this lever or frame section, front end is constructed. I could spend 8hrs there and still not feel like I have taken enough in or spent enough time with out rushing through it.

Now let me say being there with my 20 month old son who is completely into bikes and cars (especially old or custom ones, some how he knows they are better...) made it an even crazier experience. Here are just a few pictures of the few bikes I shot. I don't know why I didn't think to shoot any of the Peirce Arrows, Crocker's,  Harley JD hill climb bikes or countless other bikes I really drool over. Oh right it was pretty crazy with the little guy. Liz barley got to take in any thing since she spent most of her time wrangling the boy so I could see some things, and have some time to catch up with Matt. I really have to thank her for that. We all had a great time and I can't wait for a proper visit on two wheels this summer!

If you have any excuse to be in the area I highly suggest you make a stop here and check out the museum. Usually they are firing off bikes and riding them down the isle. The tours are really hands on and informative. If a bike looks like it runs then it most likely does. These bikes are not just for show some still get entered in vintage races and when they are restored they are made to run and operate too. Make note of the black marks from doing burn outs and brake skids on vintage rubber while you are walking past the chopper grave yard!

We have taken a picture with this hill climber every time we have come with Wayland. This is the second one. Sadly it didn't come out great.

 Snack time by the creek.

Here is a Ironhead based XR that was done up for Evil Knievel!

 A bit of history...

Matt happens to be an invited builder for the Born Free show. This is the Indian he is building for the show. This thing is going to own so hard! I can't wait to see it done!

These guys are awesome. I'm glad they seemed to get along well!

What a great family outing!

6" Hourglass Bars

Deep Six Cycles

Here is a cool little bike one of my customers in France just finished. It has our signature 6" Hourglass handle bars on it. It is a neat little scoot. I can't wait to have a few more shots of it to share.

An old Friends Bike.

Deep Six Cycles

Here it is! Another one of those bikes! We are looking forward to an extremely warm week of riding.  It should be a nice break from all those wet, cold, and down right freezing days we have ridden.

Putting On The Winter Miles.

Deep Six Cycles

Boy am I ready for weekend runs, chopper camping and bonfires. The weather is pretty mild here in Asheville, N.C. compared to the New England winters I am used to. I have a tendency to ride all I can, so I have put on a good amount of miles this winter. Here are a few shots I have collected over the course of the winter. If you happen to be stuck in a cold and snowy place waiting for the roads to clear, get your scoot ready! Full on riding season is right around the corner!

6" Hourglass Window Bars

Deep Six Cycles

We are still cranking out our signature Deep Six Cycles HourGlass window bars. We have some 6" rise bars in stock. Snatch them up while they are on sale! Or if there is something else you might want us to make for you send us an email and we can discuss what it will take.

A Deep Six Cycles Equipped Steed. Captured by Frank Bott

Deep Six Cycles

Recently I was lucky enough to have my bike shot by Frank Bott. Who is an amazing photographer and a lot of fun to work with. I feel very flattered that he has gone out of his way to track me down and convince me to let him shoot my bike.
The interesting thing is this bike is not nearly finished. So I kept telling Frank I was not ready. But Frank was very persistent. And I realized, "what the hell life is short". Plus he suggested involving my family in the shoot and that really sealed the deal for me.
This bike is at the moment my only personal runner. So that means keeping it up is a primary goal. Every thing else in life comes first over finishing it. And even though its winter I still commute to work on it often. So that makes taking it down to finish it unappealing. I will keep chipping away at it. Bit by bit part by part.

Please note our limited edition first generation D6C Tramper Bars. And the slight variation on our signature brass grips. I will add more hand made super far out chopperrific  parts when I have a little more time to spend on her. I think a top end job is in preparation for spring. So that will set me back. As I know I will be dying to ride after having her down a week or so. I hope you enjoy Frank Botts Photos of my Deep Six Cycles Equipped Chopper!

Swamp Ape

Deep Six Cycles

By Buddy has released his second solo project album. It rules so hard! I haven't been this excited about local music in a long time. But then again I don't get out much these days... Any how it rules and he has done all the art, recording, mixing etc himself!

P.S. His art rules too and he is an all around bad ass so you should probably follow his blog too!
